A B O U T
Through vibrant, expressionist paintings inspired by nature,
I hope to inspire travelers and explorers to reconnect with the beauty and adventure of the outdoors.
About the Artist
Jean Habeck is a Colorado-based painter, illustrator, and graphic artist whose work is known for vibrant use of color, expressive brushwork, and imaginative compositions. Her work blends elements of realism and expressionism, creating paintings that evoke emotion, movement and a sense of wonder. After an illness in infancy caused significant hearing loss, visual expression became her primary form of communication and the foundation of her artistic voice.
Habeck studied at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design before earning a Bachelor of Arts in Art Education with a minor in Painting and Drawing from Colorado State University. She also studied in Vienna, Austria at the historic Palais Kinsky and has traveled extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Iceland, and Europe.
Her creative process begins outdoors—hiking and photographing landscapes and wildlife—before translating those experiences into expressive paintings and mixed-media works.
Jean’s work has been commissioned and collected throughout the United States and internationally, including Taiwan and England, and has enhanced private residences, corporate spaces, businesses, and architectural environments.
My Inspiration
Nature has always been the heart of my creative process. Much of my work begins far from the studio while hiking in the mountains, exploring forests, or walking along an ocean shoreline. I photograph the landscapes, wildlife, and quiet moments that capture my attention. Later, back in the studio, those moments become the foundation for my paintings.
Each piece I create is more than a landscape—it is a memory of a place, a feeling of being there, and a reflection of the beauty I experienced in that moment.
Because of my hearing loss, I have always experienced the world visually first. I notice light, color, movement, and atmosphere in ways that deeply influence how I paint. My work often captures the peaceful, expansive feeling of being immersed in nature.
In addition to painting, I have developed a unique artistic process that blends my original photography, paintings, and digital design. This allows me to create graphic fine art prints that expand the visual experience of my work while maintaining the authenticity of the original inspiration.
My goal is simple: to create artwork that brings the beauty and calm of the natural world into the spaces where people live and work. When collectors bring my art into their homes, they are also bringing a moment of nature, travel, and quiet reflection with it.

Artist Mission
After surviving two near-death experiences and navigating many of life’s challenges, a new vision emerged within me—a deeper connection to my inner spirit that is reflected in the expressive art I create today.
My landscapes are designed to evoke calm, serenity, and reflection, offering viewers a moment of peace within the often busy rhythm of everyday life.
Healing Through Art
Art has always been more than a creative practice for me—it has been a path of healing. Through therapy and personal exploration of spirituality, I found that creating art allowed me to process difficult experiences and transform them into something meaningful and uplifting.
Today, that same healing energy is something I hope to share with others through my work.
My paintings move across an emotional spectrum—from darker, introspective pieces to bright and uplifting landscapes. Each artwork carries its own story and invites the viewer on a journey powered by imagination and personal interpretation.
When life feels overwhelming, I hope my art can offer a visual escape—a place where viewers can reconnect with calm, comfort, and inner peace.
Giving Back
I believe art also has the power to support and strengthen communities. Over the years, I have been honored to contribute artwork to organizations including the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), America SCORES Denver, Think 360 Arts, and various charity auctions.
I am also proud to be part of the Art for Our Parks initiative, where art and nature come together with purpose. Through this project, I donate a portion of sales from my nature-inspired artwork and commissions to help support the preservation of our national and state parks—the landscapes that continue to inspire so much of my work.
Through art, I hope to share moments of peace, reflection, and connection with the natural world.
